Summer Sizzler 2010

3rd Annual Decorah Summer Sizzler

Saturday, August 21st, 2010

High Noon

DECORAH, IOWA is a town of 8,000 with 500 acres of parkland and over 16 miles of off-road biking trails. It is also home to this challenging 15-mile mountain bike event for ages 14 on up. The course winds through the rolling, wooded areas of the Decorah Parks System and includes lots of technical single track. The race will begin at noon on Quarry Hill Rd. with a simultaneous mass start for all race classes.

This race is being held as a no frills fun race to help raise a little money to help maintain our trail system, therefore awards will be limited. Don’t expect anything and you just might get something.

A mandatory pre-race meeting will be held 15 minutes before the official start time (apprx 11:45) located near the race start on Quarry Hill Rd. Approved helmets are required in all events.

*Proceeds go towards helping to maintain and improve trails of Decorah *

REGISTRATION: Will begin at 9:00 a.m. at the entrance of Van Peenen Park, off Quarry Hill road.

Riders who arrive on Saturday, August 9th, may pick up a trail map at Oneota River Cycles, 220 East Water Street, or Decorah Bicycles, 101 College Drive. The final course will be decided by the race director the day of the race.
